A group of innovators leading the charge on equity and sustainability in housing shared our vision of healthy and regenerative homes that are also affordable. We can now tell the story of several affordable housing projects that have been successfully designed and built to acknowledge our inherent connection to the environment, promote health and well-being, increase quality of life, and drastically reduce water and energy consumption. In a range of locations and contexts and at a variety of scales, these projects have been constructed within the traditional mechanisms of affordable housing finance largely by non-profit developers.
A panel of project team members who are in the midst of designing and constructing living affordable housing, as well as those from past projects that are completed and certified will provide participants a chance to learn from projects that have come before them.
With this spirit of collaboration, ILFI staff will also present the newest updates and resources from the Institute, many of which have been inspired and influenced by the work and lessons learned through these projects. Summit attendees will leave feeling inspired and equipped to take on the challenge to create Living Affordable Housing.
