STARTING LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION: Attendees will meet at the JW Architects King Street office (1257 S King St, Seattle, WA 98144).

*transportation between tour sites will be provided for attendees*

The first stop is a tour of a Zero Energy certified office building, led by Julian Weber, Founding Principal of JW Architects. The tour will include a presentation on King Street project design and construction, including laser cut study models and construction photos. Julian will review their certification experience with the International Living Future Institute and present some slides about their full scale art installations and explain our ideas behind our unique, flexible entry space. This will be followed by a Q&A session which will allow attendees to leave with concrete takeaways that they can use in their own line of work. They will provide digital handouts and during the Q&A period attendees will be invited to engage with the building themselves, check out the eGauge - our energy meter that allows us to see our solar production in real time, and participate with each other and Julian Weber. Finally, there will be a full walking tour through the building.

The second stop is a tour of Inspire at the Russell W. Young Building. Inspire is a 42-unit multifamily development that is participating in the City of Seattle's Living Building Pilot Program and pursuing Energy Petal Certification. In a partnership between Russell's Fifth Avenue and Shilshole Development, the project aims to become Seattle's first multifamily building to achieve net-positive energy. The late Russell W. Young, an innovative entrepreneur during his days in Seattle, was the Executive Vice President of Advertising for The Seattle Times and recognized by Ohio State University as one of the school's 100 Most Influential Alumni of the 20th Century. Inspire is being built in the spirit of creativity, innovation, and forward progress that Russell W. Young demonstrated during is remarkable life.

Please note that it will be a live construction site so attendees will need to wear appropriate footwear. Details to follow for registered attendees.

Attendees are responsible for their own transportation after the tour.
