Founder
Jonathan A. Wright is an accomplished maker with more than forty-five years' experience as an expert builder specializing in the construction and design of sustainable, healthy, high-performance buildings. He founded Wright Builders, Inc. of Western Massachusetts in 1974, and the firm has since achieved more than forty LEED certifications in addition to constructing two Living Buildings on the Hampshire College campus known as the R.W. Kern Center and the Hitchcock Center for the Environment.
These two structures stand as living legacies to Jonathan’s commitment to green building and his deep admiration for his fellow makers. In tribute to the unsung individuals involved - builders, tradespeople, designers, engineers, educators, craftspeople, and owners - who rolled up their sleeves to play a part in creating two of the greenest buildings in the world, Jonathan has authored Ecotone Publishing’s forthcoming Spring 2019 release titled LIVING BUILDING MAKERS: Creating Sustainable Buildings That Renew Our World, a handcrafted collection of stories celebrating the people who bring the built environment to life.
