Chrysalis Strategies
Principal

Lindsay James is a well-known expert in the field of sustainability, specializing in biomimicry. In addition to serving on the faculty for Arizona State University’s Biomimicry Center, she leads Chrysalis Strategies, a consultancy focusing on the commercialization of biomimetic innovations. Chrysalis Strategies also offers biomimicry workshops and sustainability consulting, with an emphasis on strategy and employee engagement. 

Lindsay has a wealth of experience in corporate sustainability practices, including her tenure on the executive management team for Interface, the global sustainability leader and the world's largest manufacturer of commercial carpet tile (NASDAQ: TILE). As Vice President of Restorative Enterprise, she served as the leader for the sustainability department in Interface’s Americas business. 

Lindsay earned her MS in Biomimicry from Arizona State University. She graduated from the University of North Carolina, with an MBA and a BA in both Economics and Biology. In addition to her time with Interface, Lindsay’s professional experience includes economic consulting with Analysis Group and environmental economics research with RTI International. She serves as Board Chair for Foresight Design Initiative and Board Vice Chair for Colorado State University’s Center for Living Environments and Regeneration (CLEAR).
