Megan Smith is the Director of Climate and Energy Initiatives for King County, Washington. She leads climate change and energy initiatives across King County government's diverse lines of business. She works to advance clean energy and climate change goals at the community scale, in partnership with cities, businesses, and community-based organizations. Prior to this position, she served as the King County Executive's Environmental Policy Advisor on a wide range of issues, from stormwater management to open space conservation. Megan has over 20 years of experience in developing and managing natural resource programs, building cross-sector partnerships, and supporting decision making by elected officials at the intersection of science and policy.
