Michael Johnson

Director of Sustainability
As Director of Sustainability at 3form/Lightart, Michael Johnson provides direction and oversight to corporate environmental and social responsibility policies and initiatives. These include initiatives designed to achieve goals of zero waste in manufacturing, carbon neutrality, product transparency and optimization, and integration of sustainability ethics into the workforce.

Michael spends a large amount of time currently focused on materials transparency and optimization, offering educational presentations from coast to coast on this subject to help the A&D community better embrace the Living Building Challenge, LEED V4, and other healthy building standards, or to simply understand the underlying importance of transparency from a practical standpoint.

Utilizing more than 20 years of experience, as well as formal education in the environmental and sustainability business arenas, he brings real world context and practical solutions to complicated problems. These efforts have been recognized with sustainability awards and speaking engagements to business groups, universities and colleges, sustainability conferences, and other professional organizations.

Michael joined 3form after 12 years at the helm of a multimedia company he created, which pioneered sustainability-specific marketing to help green businesses gain consumer preference. Additional experience in environmental remediation and management provides a solid understanding of health and environmental impacts caused by exposure to chemicals and materials.
